Amodavardhana Kaundinnyayana (Amod Acharya) hails from Chundi Ramgha,Tanhun, Nepal, where he was born on November 13, 1967, to the renowned Sanskrit scholar Shivaraja Acharya Kaundinnyayana and Devi Acharyani. He got his early education at home from his father. Later he completed his proficiency certificate level from Tribhuvan University, and Bachelors (Shastri) as well as Masters (Acharya) degree from Nepal Sanskrit University (then Mahendra Sanskrit University). He was the University top in all these levels and received various gold medals. He received a PhD from Sampurnananda Sanskrit University Varanasi, India in 2008. In his research, he corrected the mistakes in the available printed versions of the Shukla Yajurveda. Currently, he is a Professor of Shukla Yajurveda at Nepal Sanskrit University, where he is teaching since 1992.

He is involved in the study, research and publication of various linguistic, philosophical and cultural works at Svaddhyashala, a familial educational and research institution established by his father for the last four decades. His research works and commentaries related to the Sanskrit and Nepali languages, Vedic theology, philosophy, and culture are published in several journals and popular magazines as well as broadsheet papers. He has authored 6 books and edited more than 10 books that are published from Nepal and India.
